Please take flights to Nice to meet on the 16th June. Nice connects to Rome and Milan and most European cities as well as being on the Train line. Nice is not only the French Riviera it is the gateway to Provence… you may decide to spend a few days in this lovely region of France.

DAY 1 /FREE DAY (Sun 16th) Pick up from Nice Airport (details of meeting point will be provided at a later date) Transfer to our Villa nestled in the hills only 1:30 hour’s drive away from the hustle and bustle of the seaside resorts, surrounded by olive groves with exquisite views of surrounding Alps.

Welcome drinks & dinner on our terrace with its beautiful view of the countryside.

DAY 2 /ALTA VAL NERVIA (Mon 17th) We will spend the morning painting at our villa enjoying the tranquility of our surroundings.

DAY 3 / ALTA VAL NERVIA (Tues 18th) Dolceacqua. Only 10 minutes from our villa, we reach the lovely village of Dolceacqua, overlooked by the Castello del Doria. Claude Monet loved this area and painted the castle and old bridge which he described as a “jewel of lightness “.

DAY 4 / ALTA VAL NERVIA (Wed 19th) Apricale. Known as The Artists Village, the facades of pink and ochre buildings display beautiful murals.

DAY 5 / ALTA VAL NERVIA (Thurs 20th) Bordighera. This small seaside town with its beautiful church perched on a rock on the Lungomare has gardens cascading to the sea. We will spend a free morning at the

We go to the Thursday markets and continue onto the Pompeo Mariani Museum. Mariani was a close friend and contemporary of Claude Monet and was the finest marine artist of his generation.

We will have the opportunity to paint this area of Italy which inspired Monet.

DAY 6 / CINQUE TERRA (Fri 21st) Morning painting at hotel. Afternoon visit to Bussana Vecchia, to see the work of a community of Artists and to wander around the shops.

DAY 7 / ALTA VAL NERVIA (Sat 22nd) Rocchetta Nerva. This pretty village with its running river and impressive white boulders is a well-kept secret in this hidden corner of Liguria. (afternoon critique)

DAY 8 / CINQUE TERRA (Sun 23 rd) FREE DAY Depart our villa at 9am. Our destination is only a few hours journey however as we
see so many wonderful sites we will take the opportunity to stop, explore and photograph some of these gems .Along the way, we pass Camogli, Paraggi and other seaside towns- all strikingly beautiful along one of Italy’s most famous stretches of coastline.

Passing translucent seas, dramatic cliffs, colourful villages clinging to rocky slopes and undulating hills spread with green terraces ,we reach our final destination – Monterosso.

Our hotel is within walking distance of all the little trattorias & bars along the waterfront of this colourful seaside village.

DAY 9 /CINQUE TERRA (Mon 24 th) Monterosso. The backstreets of this village will inspire us for today’s painting.

Optional late afternoon hike (easy walking!) along the Via Del Amore , which traces a route from Manorola to Rommagiore, where we will have drinks, followed by dinner.


DAY 10 / CINQUE TERRA (Tues 25 th) Vernazza. Travelling by boat, we reach Vernazza, with its colourful houses clustered around the inlet. Its architectural grace make it one of the prettiest places in the Cinque Terra. The little port is lined with colourful fishing boats.

DAY 11/ CINQUE TERRA (Wed 26 th) Corniglia. Short train trip ( 10 minutes ) to Corniglia, perched high on a ridge surrounded by vineyards which produces the well-known Sciacchetra fortified wine!

DAY 12 / CINQUE TERRA (Thurs 27 th) Monterosso. Undulating hills covered with vineyards and terraces surrounding Monterosso provide a striking landscape !

DAY 13 / CINQUE TERRA (Fri 28 th) Manorola. Clinging to the cliff overlooking the sea, Manorola is stunning with its patchwork of coloured houses .

DAY 14/ CINQUE TERRA (Sat 29 th) FREE DAY Free time to shop, swim or perhaps enjoy the famous coastal walk !

Farewell drinks & dinner.

Day 15/ DEPARTURE (Sun 30 th) Early morning transfer to Pisa Airport…

Cancellations – Should you wish to cancel, a cancellation fee will be incurred as follows:

Within 15 days prior tour – 50% total land cost

Within 30-15 days prior tour – 25% total land cost

Within 45 – 30 days prior tour – 15% total land cost

Within 60 – 45 days prior tour – tour deposit

Within 90- 60 days prior tour – $300

120 days -90 days prior tour – $200

120 days or more – no cancellation fee

ITALY TOUR COST- 14 nights /15 days $4,950 (twin share) $850 (single supplementary)
